Raquel DeHoyos is the owner of Boastful Food LLC. She is a personal chef serving busy professionals and small households throughout Puget Sound. She is also a cooking instructor at Seattle’s Pike Place Market and Cozymeal. When not cooking and teaching, Raquel provides recipe development and food photography for the Washington State Potato Commission. She has a weekly blog, boastfulfood.com, that features small batch recipes that are budget friendly and nutritionally balanced and created to help households learn how to reduce food waste. Raquel is a member of the Puget Sound Personal Chefs Group, the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP), and Seattle Toklas Society, a network of women in the food and hospitality industry. She is an advocate for quality health and is active in food access and empowerment work through the Pike Place Market’s Food Access Project and Project Feast’s culinary training for immigrant and refugee individuals seeking employment in the food industry. Raquel previously worked as the kitchen manager for Ray’s Boathouse, one of Seattle’s legendary waterfront seafood restaurants, and managed Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters nutrition education program for the state of Washington.
