World Cup Cooking with Aarón Sanchez

Yum

I am a big sports fan, and the World Cup is so much fun because we get to come together and root for all these amazing countries playing such an exciting sport. I, of course, am always rooting for Mexico, and I love to make a spread that reflects the pride I have when hosting viewing parties at my house. My ultimate rule of thumb for occasions and get-togethers is to make sure you have something ready when guests arrive, so you are not flustered in the kitchen. That way, you get to spend more time with your friends and loved ones. When I think of sports parties, I think of comfort food that is simple and flavorful, so I’ve put together some of my favorite dishes to share with you. These recipes are all easy, fun, fresh, and incorporate the best ingredients you can ask for on game day: Cacique cheeses, cremas and chorizos!

First up, the cilantro dip! Crema Mexicana Agria brings a thick, buttery creaminess that’s accentuated by the citrusy lime. It’s super easy and you can serve it with vegetables and chips for your guests to mix and match depending on what they like best. Then, we of course have to have nachos. I mean, these are a classic crowd pleaser. I like to make nachos super loaded with all the goodies that everyone loves – from beef, pork or soy Cacique chorizo to a delicious Avocado Crema made with Cacique Crema Natural. They’re crunchy, cheesy and spicy, with fresh elements to really round it all out. Next up, tostadas are a great way to elevate your spread and bring authenticity to the table. These are a perfect bite to pass around while your friends and family are enjoying the game.

But finally, the tacos are the star here, and you can really show off what you can do in the kitchen on this one. I love tacos and these are actually pretty simple, plus they’re a great replacement for an entrée to ensure your guests don’t leave hungry. The finishing touch is a spoonful of a mango-lime crema made with Cacique Crema Mexicana Agria, mango puree and juice and zest of lime, to take the tacos to the next level. All of these recipes use delicious, fresh, authentic Cacique ingredients that are sure to impress your friends and family during this year’s World Cup.
