Make an Easy Taco Bar

Are you hosting a get-together reunion or just simply want to make something special for your weeknight family dinner? Tacos are very popular, I mean, who doesn’t love tacos? We love them not only because they are fast and easy, we love them because they’re tasty. Setting a Taco Bar is so easy, just put together your favorite ingredients, that simple! Your guests and family will love the taco building experience because they will fill their tacos and make them whatever they like!

Another thing I really like about the idea of a Taco Bar is that you can accommodate a variety of diets, from meat lovers to vegans, and let’s not forget those picky eaters! This also frees you up, so you can spend more time with your guests and family, and of course, enjoy a few tacos yourself!

Who is ready to Taco-about it? I put together some simple tips to help you create a simple Taco Bar:

Tortillas and Shells
Offer a variety of tortillas (corn, flour, whole wheat) as well of crispy taco shells. To keep the tortillas warm, wrap them in foil or a kitchen towel. If you want to make your Taco Bar extra special you can include tostadas, tortilla chips and lettuce leaves for those who want something lighter.

Taco Fillings
You want a variety of fillings for all your guests taste: seasoned ground beef, chicken, steak, fish, shrimp, grilled vegetables, etc. Remember, everything goes well on a taco!

Cheeses and Cream
There is no such thing as too much queso or crema when it comes to topping tacos! Cacique® Four Quesos Blend, Cacique® Queso Fresco and Cacique® Crema Mexicana Agria are a must.

Extra Ingredients
There are so many topping ideas to make every taco special, but the “must have” are chopped tomatoes, shredded lettuce, black beans, rice, chopped cilantro and lime wedges. What’s your favorite topping?

Salsa Section
Spice up your Taco Bar with a few of your favorite salsas, you can be as creative as you want, or keep it simple with a Salsa Verde and Salsa Roja. If you are having fish and/or shrimp as a filling, I really recommend you to make a Creamy Chipotle Sauce (recipe below). Oh! and let’s not forget the delicious guacamole!

Decorations
To dress up your table use bright colors to liven up the Taco Bar, even the smaller touch will make it more fun. A colorful table runner, fun server ware, napkins, flowers and décor pieces will add a very special look and feel.
